Mr. Martella was born in Lausanne, Switzerland. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Economics from Northern Illinois University and his Juris Doctor degree from the Northern Illinois University College of Law in DeKalb, Illinois. At the College of Law, Mr. Martella was the Editor-in-Chief of the College's newspaper, The Advocate.

Mr. Martella concentrates his practice in the defense of workers' compensation matters and employment related matters.

Mr. Martella has extensive trial experience before the Illinois Industrial Commission. He has presented oral arguments in all phases of appeal across Illinois, including before the Circuit Court and the Illinois Appellate Court. He drafted the Illinois Supreme Court Brief on behalf of an employer in the influential Parro case dealing with the defense of intoxication in workers' compensation cases. He has legal experience in all phases of Social Security Disability/Income Litigation.

Mr. Martella is admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois and before the United States District Court in the Northern District of Illinois. His professional affiliations include the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association and he is involved in the Justinian Society of Lawyers.
